2008 Bank of America Chicago Marathon Be a part of our school's tradition and join the Cortiva Institute - Chicago Massage Team at the 2008 Bank of America Chicago Marathon! Every year since 1983, our school has been at the end of the race providing post event massage for the Chicago Marathon athletes Now YOU can be part of that tradition! Click here to view job descriptions and register The 2007 massage team pictured consisted of approximately 200 massage therapy students, alumni and faculty who gave about 1,000 massages to the race runners.
Continuing Education Requirements Illinois License Beginning with the December 31, 2008 renewal and every renewal thereafter, in order to renew an Illinois Massage Therapy license, a licensee shall be required to complete 24 hours of continuing education, including at least 2 hours on ethics. The 24 hours must be earned in the current renewal period, and excess hours cannot be used to meet the next renewal period requirement. Note for those who are renewing the license for the first time: A renewal applicant shall not be required to comply with the CE requirements for the first renewal of an Illinois license. National Certification You are required to submit a total of forty-eight (48) continuing education hours of which six (6) must be in ethics. Illinois License Information ALL massage therapy licenses will expire on 12/31/08 no matter when it was first issued.
